Sansevieria Laurentii is a classic, easy-care houseplant known for its tall, upright leaves with dark green banding and bright yellow edges. Its clean, architectural shape makes it a great choice for offices, bedrooms, shelves, plant stands, and bright indoor spaces.
The proper botanical name is commonly listed as Dracaena trifasciata ‘Laurentii’. It may also be sold under the older name Sansevieria trifasciata ‘Laurentii’ or Variegated Snake Plant.
Sansevieria Laurentii does best in bright, indirect light, but it can tolerate lower light conditions. Brighter filtered light helps support stronger growth and better variegation. Avoid harsh direct sun, which can scorch the leaves.
Water thoroughly when the soil is completely dry and allow water to drain. Sansevieria store moisture in their thick leaves, so they prefer to dry out fully between waterings. Avoid watering too frequently.
Use a well-draining potting mix and a pot with drainage. A cactus or succulent mix with added perlite or pumice works well.
Sansevieria Laurentii prefers warm temperatures and average household humidity. Keep it away from cold drafts, heating vents, and air conditioning.
This plant is slow-growing and easy to maintain. Rotate it occasionally to help it grow evenly toward the light.
Sansevieria plants are toxic to pets if ingested. Keep them away from cats, dogs, and small children.
