Lightning Jewel Orchid
Lightning Jewel Orchid is a compact tropical orchid known for its dark green, velvety leaves with bright gold, lightning-like veining. It is grown more for its foliage than its flowers, making it a beautiful choice for terrariums, plant cabinets, shaded shelves, and small decorative pots.
The proper botanical name is Macodes petola.
Care
Lightning Jewel Orchid does best in medium to bright indirect light. Avoid harsh direct sun, which can scorch the leaves and fade the delicate veining.
Water thoroughly when the top inch or two of soil feels dry and allow water to drain. Jewel Orchids prefer evenly moist soil, but they do not like sitting in wet soil, so avoid watering too frequently.
