Assorted Rhipsalis
Assorted Rhipsalis are unique tropical cacti known for their trailing or cascading stems and soft, textured growth. Unlike desert cacti, Rhipsalis naturally grow in tropical environments, giving them a softer look and making them a great choice for hanging baskets, shelves, plant stands, and bright indoor spaces.
The proper botanical name is Rhipsalis, though exact varieties may vary. They may also be sold as Mistletoe Cactus, Jungle Cactus, or Assorted Rhipsalis.
Care
Assorted Rhipsalis do best in bright, indirect light. They can tolerate medium light, but brighter filtered light helps support fuller growth. Avoid harsh direct sun, which can scorch the stems.
Water thoroughly when the top inch or two of soil feels dry and allow water to drain. Rhipsalis prefer more moisture than desert cacti, but they do not like sitting in wet soil, so avoid watering too frequently.
Use a well-draining, airy potting mix and a pot with drainage. A mix with houseplant soil, orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir works well.
Assorted Rhipsalis prefer warm temperatures and average to moderate humidity. They can handle normal household humidity, but higher humidity can support fuller growth. Keep them away from cold drafts, heating vents, and air conditioning.
These plants grow beautifully as they trail, making them a great option for hanging planters or elevated shelves. Trim as needed to maintain shape and encourage fuller growth.
