Lithops Living Stones
Lithops Living Stones are unique succulent plants known for their small, stone-like bodies that help them blend into rocky desert environments. Their unusual shape, compact size, and wide range of colors make them a fun choice for sunny windowsills, small pots, succulent collections, and collector spaces.
The proper botanical name is Lithops. They are commonly sold as Lithops, Living Stones, or Living Stone Plants.
Care
Lithops do best in bright light to direct morning sun. A sunny windowsill works well. Too little light can cause them to stretch or lose their compact shape.
Water sparingly and only when the plant is actively growing. Lithops have a unique growth cycle, so they need much less water than most houseplants. Avoid watering while they are splitting or growing a new pair of leaves, since the new leaves use moisture from the old ones.
Use a very well-draining gritty mix and a pot with drainage. A cactus or succulent mix with extra pumice, perlite, coarse sand, or small gravel works well.
Lithops prefer warm temperatures, bright light, and dry conditions. They do not need high humidity and should not sit in wet soil.
This plant may produce daisy-like flowers when mature and grown in strong light. Flowers are usually white or yellow.
