Cissus Amazonica
Cissus Amazonica is a unique trailing houseplant known for its narrow green leaves with striking silver markings. Its delicate foliage and cascading growth habit make it a great choice for hanging baskets, shelves, plant stands, terrariums, and bright indoor spaces.
The proper botanical name is Cissus amazonica. It may also be sold as Amazonian Vine or Amazon Cissus.
Care
Cissus Amazonica does best in bright, indirect light. It can tolerate medium light, but brighter filtered light helps support fuller growth and stronger leaf patterning. Avoid harsh direct sun, which can scorch the leaves.
Water thoroughly when the top inch or two of soil feels dry and allow water to drain. Cissus prefer lightly moist soil, but they do not like sitting in wet soil, so avoid watering too frequently.
Use a well-draining potting mix and a pot with drainage. A standard houseplant mix with added perlite, orchid bark, or coco coir works well.
Cissus Amazonica prefers warm temperatures and moderate to high humidity. Higher humidity can help keep the foliage full and healthy. Keep it away from cold drafts, heating vents, and air conditioning.
Trim the vines as needed to keep the plant full and encourage branching. It can trail beautifully or be trained to climb with support.
