Dragon Bone Cactus, commonly known as Euphorbia lactea, is a sculptural succulent known for its upright, branching growth and ridged stems. Its bold, architectural shape gives it a clean, modern look, making it a great choice for bright indoor spaces, plant shelves, and statement containers. Despite its common name, it is not a true cactus, because plant naming apparently needed one more way to test everyone.
For best growth, place Dragon Bone Cactus in bright, indirect light. It can tolerate some direct sun, especially morning sun, but harsh afternoon sun may scorch the plant if it is not gradually acclimated.
Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. This plant stores water in its thick stems and prefers to stay on the dry side. Use a well-draining cactus or succulent mix, and make sure the pot has drainage to help prevent root rot.
Dragon Bone Cactus does well in average household humidity and prefers warm indoor temperatures. Keep it away from cold drafts and temperatures below 60°F.
