False Aralia
False Arali, also known as Schefflera elegantissima, is a striking tropical houseplant known for its thin, deeply serrated leaves and elegant, airy shape. Young plants often have dark bronze, almost black foliage, while mature plants develop greener, more finely divided leaves.
It has a bold, modern look without taking up too much visual space.
Care
False Aralia does best in bright, indirect light. It can tolerate medium light, but growth may slow and the plant may become leggy. Avoid harsh direct sun, which can scorch the delicate leaves.
Keep the soil lightly moist, but not soggy. Water when the top inch or two of soil feels dry. This plant does not like drying out completely, but it also does not want to sit in wet soil like a dramatic little swamp creature.
Use a well-draining potting mix and a pot with drainage. A standard houseplant mix with added perlite or bark works well.
False Aralia prefers higher humidity and warm indoor temperatures. If the air is too dry, the leaf edges may brown or the plant may drop leaves.
Pet Safety
False Aralia is considered toxic to pets if ingested, so keep it away from curious cats, dogs, and any tiny chaos gremlins with teeth.
