Frizzle Sizzle
Frizzle Sizzle is a unique bulb plant known for its curly, spiral-shaped leaves that twist and coil as they grow. Its playful foliage gives it a fun, unusual look, making it a great choice for sunny windowsills, small pots, plant shelves, and collector spaces.
The proper botanical name is Albuca spiralis ‘Frizzle Sizzle’.
Care
Frizzle Sizzle does best in bright light to direct morning sun. A sunny window helps the leaves stay compact and curly. Too little light can cause the leaves to stretch and lose some of their spiral shape.
Water thoroughly when the top inch or two of soil feels dry and allow water to drain. Frizzle Sizzle grows from a bulb and does not like sitting in wet soil, so avoid watering too frequently.
Use a well-draining potting mix and a pot with drainage. A cactus or succulent mix with added perlite or pumice works well.
Frizzle Sizzle prefers bright conditions, good airflow, and moderate indoor temperatures. It may go dormant after flowering or during warmer months. During dormancy, the leaves may yellow or die back. Reduce watering until new growth returns.
This plant can produce yellow-green flowers with a light vanilla-like scent. After flowering, the leaves may naturally begin to fade as the plant enters rest.
