Philodendron Pink Mutation is a rare tropical houseplant known for its dark green foliage with pink, blush, or marbled variegation. The color pattern can vary from leaf to leaf, giving each plant a unique look. It is often associated with the Pink Princess Philodendron group, where pink variegation appears from a natural mutation.
The proper botanical name is most commonly listed as Philodendron erubescens ‘Pink Princess’ or Philodendron ‘Pink Princess’. “Pink Mutation” is usually a trade name or grower name, so labeling may vary by supplier.
Care
Philodendron Pink Mutation does best in bright, indirect light. Brighter filtered light helps support stronger growth and better pink variegation. Avoid harsh direct sun, which can scorch the leaves, especially the lighter variegated areas.
Water thoroughly when the top inch or two of soil feels dry and allow water to drain. Philodendrons prefer lightly moist soil, but they do not like sitting in wet soil, so avoid watering too frequently.
Use a well-draining, chunky potting mix and a pot with drainage. A mix with houseplant soil, orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir works well.
Philodendron Pink Mutation prefers warm temperatures and moderate to high humidity. Higher humidity can help support healthier leaves and reduce crispy edges. Keep it away from cold drafts, heating vents, and air conditioning.
