Reverse Variegated Spider Plant
Reverse Variegated Spider Plant is a classic, easy-care houseplant known for its long arching leaves with green centers and creamy white edges. Its full, grassy shape makes it a great choice for shelves, hanging baskets, plant stands, and bright indoor spaces.
The proper botanical name is commonly listed as Chlorophytum comosum ‘Variegatum’. It may also be called Reverse Variegated Spider Plant or Variegated Spider Plant.
Care
Reverse Variegated Spider Plant does best in bright, indirect light. It can tolerate medium light, but brighter filtered light helps support stronger growth and better variegation. Avoid harsh direct sun, which can scorch the leaves.
Water thoroughly when the top inch or two of soil feels dry and allow water to drain. Spider Plants prefer lightly moist soil, but they do not like sitting in wet soil, so avoid watering too frequently.
Use a well-draining potting mix and a pot with drainage. A standard houseplant mix with added perlite works well.
Reverse Variegated Spider Plant does well in average indoor temperatures and normal household humidity. It can tolerate slightly lower humidity, but dry air or inconsistent watering may cause brown leaf tips.
This plant often produces baby plantlets on long stems as it matures. These can be left on the plant for a fuller look or propagated into new plants.
