Syngonium 'Neon Pink' is a beautiful tropical houseplant known for its soft, rosy-pink foliage and elegant, arrow-shaped leaves. Its delicate blush tones range from pale pink to warm salmon, often accented by subtle green undertones that create a lovely contrast. With its lush appearance, vibrant coloration, and easygoing nature, 'Neon Pink' adds a cheerful splash of color to shelves, desks, hanging planters, and indoor plant collections. Its adaptability and relatively simple care make it an excellent choice for both beginners and experienced plant enthusiasts.
Botanically known as Syngonium podophyllum 'Neon Robusta', this plant is commonly sold under the names 'Neon Pink' and 'Pink Neon'. It belongs to the Araceae family and is related to other popular Arrowhead Plants. Native to the tropical regions of Central and South America, the species naturally grows as a climbing vine beneath the forest canopy.
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light to maintain its beautiful pink coloration and encourage healthy growth. Can tolerate medium light conditions, although lower light may cause the foliage to become greener and growth to slow. Avoid prolonged exposure to harsh direct sunlight, which can scorch the delicate leaves.
Watering: Allow the top 1–2 inches of soil to dry between waterings. Water thoroughly, allowing excess water to drain away. Syngonium prefers lightly moist soil during active growth but should never sit in soggy conditions. Reduce watering during cooler months.
Soil: Use a chunky, well-draining aroid mix containing orchid bark, perlite, coco coir, and quality potting soil. The mixture should retain some moisture while providing good airflow around the roots.
Temperature & Humidity: Thrives in temperatures between 65–85°F and appreciates moderate to high humidity, ideally 50–70%. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 55°F. Consistent humidity helps encourage healthy foliage and prevents crispy leaf edges.
Growth Habit: A moderately fast-growing tropical aroid that begins with a compact, bushy appearance before developing a trailing or climbing habit as it matures. Its soft pink, arrow-shaped leaves may become larger and more divided with age. Provide a moss pole or trellis to encourage climbing growth, or allow the stems to cascade naturally from a hanging planter. Regular pruning encourages a fuller, bushier appearance.
Toxic to cats and dogs if ingested. Syngonium contains insoluble calcium oxalate crystals that can cause oral irritation, excessive drooling, vomiting, and difficulty swallowing. Keep this plant out of reach of curious pets.
