Description
Tradescantia ‘Lollipop’ is a colorful trailing houseplant known for its soft pink, cream, green, and purple-toned foliage. Its compact, cascading growth makes it a beautiful choice for hanging baskets, shelves, plant stands, and bright indoor displays. With the right light, the variegation can become brighter and more vibrant, giving the plant a fun pop of color.
Light Requirements
For best color and growth, place Tradescantia ‘Lollipop’ in bright, indirect light. It can tolerate some gentle morning sun, but avoid harsh afternoon sun, which can scorch the leaves. Too little light may cause the plant to lose some of its bright coloring and become leggier.
Watering
Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil feel dry. Tradescantia prefers lightly moist soil but does not like to sit in soggy conditions. Use a well-draining potting mix and a pot with drainage to help prevent root rot.
Temperature & Humidity
This plant prefers warm indoor temperatures and average to moderate humidity. Keep it away from cold drafts, air vents, and temperatures below 55–60°F. Regular trimming can help keep the plant full and encourage fresh new growth.
Pet Safety
Tradescantia ‘Lollipop’ is not considered pet-safe and may cause irritation if ingested by cats or dogs. Keep it out of reach of pets and children.
Best For
Tradescantia ‘Lollipop’ is best for hanging baskets, shelves, bright indoor spaces, and plant owners who want a colorful trailing plant with fast growth and vibrant foliage.
