Tradescantia Velvet White
Tradescantia Velvet White is a soft, trailing houseplant known for its fuzzy, silvery-green leaves with a pale white velvet appearance. Its unique texture and cascading growth habit make it a great choice for hanging baskets, shelves, plant stands, and bright indoor spaces.
The proper name is commonly listed as Tradescantia sillamontana or Tradescantia sillamontana ‘White Velvet’. It may also be sold as White Velvet Tradescantia, Cobweb Spiderwort, or Velvet White Tradescantia.
Care
Tradescantia Velvet White does best in bright, indirect light. Brighter filtered light helps support compact growth and stronger silver-white coloring. Avoid harsh direct sun, which can scorch the leaves.
Water thoroughly when the top inch or two of soil feels dry and allow water to drain. Tradescantia prefer lightly moist soil, but they do not like sitting in wet soil, so avoid watering too frequently.
