Description
ZZ Microdwarf is a compact form of ZZ Plant, known for its thick, glossy green leaves and naturally small growth habit. It has the same durable, low-maintenance nature as a classic ZZ Plant, but in a smaller size that works beautifully for desks, shelves, offices, plant stands, and small indoor spaces. Its tidy shape and slow growth make it an easy choice for anyone wanting a polished plant without much fuss.
Light Requirements
ZZ Microdwarf can tolerate a wide range of light conditions, from low light to bright, indirect light. For best growth, place it in medium to bright, indirect light. Avoid harsh direct sun, which can scorch the leaves.
Watering
Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. ZZ Plants store water in their thick rhizomes and stems, making them very drought tolerant. Use a well-draining potting mix and a pot with drainage to help prevent root rot. Water much less often in lower light or cooler months.
Temperature & Humidity
This plant does well in average household humidity and prefers warm indoor temperatures. Keep it away from cold drafts, air vents, and temperatures below 55–60°F.
Pet Safety
ZZ Microdwarf is not considered pet-safe and can be toxic if ingested by cats or dogs. Keep it out of reach of pets that like to chew on plants.
Best For
ZZ Microdwarf is best for beginner plant owners, offices, desks, shelves, low-light spaces, and anyone who wants a compact, low-maintenance houseplant with glossy foliage and very low watering needs.
