Cuddly Cactus
Cuddly Cactus is a unique, soft-looking cactus known for its fuzzy white spines and upright columnar growth. Unlike many sharper cacti, its spines are usually softer to the touch, giving it a more approachable look for sunny windowsills, desks, shelves, and small plant collections.
The proper botanical name is commonly listed as Cereus jamacaru ‘Cuddly Cactus’. It may also be sold simply as Cuddly Cactus.
Care
Cuddly Cactus does best in bright light to direct sun. A sunny window is ideal. Too little light can cause weak, stretched growth.
Water thoroughly when the soil is completely dry and allow water to drain. Cacti store water in their stems, so they prefer to dry out fully between waterings. Avoid watering too frequently.
Use a very well-draining cactus or succulent mix and a pot with drainage. Adding pumice, perlite, or coarse sand can help improve drainage.
Cuddly Cactus prefers warm temperatures, bright light, and dry conditions. It does not need high humidity and should be kept away from cold drafts, heating vents, and air conditioning.
This plant grows slowly indoors and can become more upright and columnar as it matures. Rotate it occasionally to help it grow evenly toward the light.
Pet Safety
Cuddly Cactus is not typically listed as toxic to pets, but the spines can still irritate mouths, paws, or skin. Keep it away from curious cats, dogs, and small children.
