Monstera Peru is a unique tropical plant known for its thick, textured leaves and deep green color. Its foliage has a raised, almost quilted appearance, giving it a bold look while staying compact and easy to style. This plant grows as a vine and works well in hanging baskets, on shelves, or trained to climb a moss pole or trellis.
For best growth, place Monstera Peru in bright, indirect light. It can tolerate medium light, but brighter indirect light will encourage fuller growth and stronger foliage. Avoid direct sun, which can scorch the leaves.
Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil feel dry. Use a chunky, well-draining potting mix and a pot with drainage to help prevent root issues. Monstera Peru prefers lightly moist soil but should never sit in standing water.
This plant prefers warm indoor temperatures and average to higher humidity. Keep it away from cold drafts, air vents, and temperatures below 60°F. Adding a support pole can help encourage larger leaves and a more upright growth habit.
Monstera Peru is a great choice for plant owners who want a low-maintenance trailing or climbing plant with unique textured foliage.
