Twisted Lipstick Plant
Twisted Lipstick Plant is a trailing tropical houseplant known for its curled, twisting green leaves and bright tubular blooms that often appear in shades of red or orange. Its unique foliage and cascading growth make it a great choice for hanging baskets, shelves, plant stands, and bright indoor spaces.
The proper botanical name is commonly listed as Aeschynanthus radicans ‘Rasta’. It may also be sold as Curly Lipstick Plant or Lipstick Plant ‘Rasta’.
Care
Twisted Lipstick Plant does best in bright, indirect light. Brighter filtered light helps support fuller growth and encourages blooming. Avoid harsh direct sun, which can scorch the leaves.
Water thoroughly when the top inch or two of soil feels dry and allow water to drain. Lipstick Plants prefer lightly moist soil, but they do not like sitting in wet soil, so avoid watering too frequently.
Use a well-draining, airy potting mix and a pot with drainage. A mix with houseplant soil, orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir works well.
Twisted Lipstick Plant prefers warm temperatures and moderate to high humidity. Higher humidity can help support healthy growth and blooming. Keep it away from cold drafts, heating vents, and air conditioning.
Trim the vines as needed to keep the plant full and encourage branching. Blooms usually appear when the plant receives enough bright indirect light and consistent care.
