Description
Tillandsia stricta ‘Inverta’ is a unique air plant known for its compact shape and softly curving green to silvery-green leaves. Its foliage naturally twists and turns as it grows, giving it a sculptural look that works well in bowls, terrariums, mounted displays, and decorative containers. Like other Tillandsia, it does not need soil and absorbs moisture and nutrients through its leaves.
Light Requirements
For best growth, place Tillandsia stricta ‘Inverta’ in bright, indirect light. It can tolerate some gentle morning sun, but avoid harsh direct afternoon sun, which can dry or scorch the leaves. Good airflow is important, especially after watering.
Watering
Water by soaking the plant in room-temperature water for about 15–30 minutes once a week. After soaking, shake off excess water and allow the plant to dry fully upside down or on its side. The plant should dry within a few hours to help prevent rot.
Temperature & Humidity
Tillandsia stricta ‘Inverta’ prefers warm indoor temperatures and average to moderate humidity. Keep it away from cold drafts and temperatures below 50–60°F. In very dry spaces, it may benefit from an occasional misting between soakings.
Pet Safety
Tillandsia stricta ‘Inverta’ is generally considered pet-friendly and non-toxic to cats and dogs. It is still best to keep it out of reach of pets that like to chew on plants.
Best For
Tillandsia stricta ‘Inverta’ is a great choice for plant owners who want a small, low-maintenance, soil-free plant with a unique shape and flexible display options.
